Carbon dioxide is a bi product in the Ammonia manufacturing process or the fermentation process in Ethanol manufacturing. The captured Feed gas is then brought to our CO2 recovery plant by pipelines and are then compressed, purified, liquefied and stored.
Premier Carbonic with its indigenous housebound technology is committed to produce Liquid Carbon dioxide conforming to food and beverage standards. We have an installed capacity of over 300 Tons per day (TPD) to produce Liquid carbon dioxide in its various manufacturing facilities strategically located all over South India to serve all our customer’s needs.
Bulk Supply is done through the Liquid mobile tankers of varying capacities – 14KL, 18KL, 22KL to customers having CO2 Storage tank system. It is generally advisable for a customer to install CO2 tanks system in their facility if their volumes substantiate their investments
Customers can take the advantage of using this mode of supply because:
It is the most cost effective supply mode.
Safer when compared to high pressure cylinders
Reduce handling of cylinders at their facility
Reduce wastage of residual gas in cylinders which cannot be utilized by customer or the supplier.
CO2 supply is done through 30KG cylinder capacity. The pricing of gaseous is higher than Bulk supplies on account of conversion cost, transportation costs and handling cost.
Customers can take the advantage of using this mode of supply because:
Consumption of CO2 is substantially less.
Consumption points at the facility are erratic.
Minor investment of the Manifold system at the customer facility.
Carbon dioxide is extensively used in the hardening of molding mixture of sand and liquid silicate binder, leading to reduction in production throughput and realization of cost savings through decreased fuel consumption.
Carbon dioxide is used in the process of Metal Inert Gas (MIG) or Metal Active Gas (MAG) welding, to shield the weld surface to prevent the exposure of atmospheric gases such as Oxygen and Nitrogen. The inertness of Carbon dioxide helps in preventing porosity and eliminating substantial defects in the weld.
Carbon Dioxide gas is used for the preparation of urea, methanol, inorganic / organic carbonates, polyurethanes and sodium salicylate. Carbon Dioxide is combined with epoxides to create plastics and polymers.
Carbon dioxide is used in the purification of drinking water by acting as a neutralizing agent to treat alkaline water. It is also used in the treatment of water in the swimming pools. Carbon dioxide proves to be an effective alternative to mineral acids due to its ease of use, operational safety and in ensuring an ecologically safe environment.
Carbon Dioxide, owing to its heavier density compared to air, is typically used in fire-extinguishers while blanketing a fire. Extinguishers typically contain pressurized liquid Carbon Dioxide which is used to put out low flammable liquid and electric fires.
Carbon Dioxide, due to its property of not leaving any harmful residues, is extensively used in controlling atmosphere systems in silos and fumigation of aircraft.
Carbon dioxide gas is used in enhanced oil recovery (EOR). EOR is a class of techniques for increasing the quantity of extracted crude oil from oil fields. Carbon dioxide is injected under high pressure into an oil reservoir, which pushes the oil through pipes, up to the surface of the ground. Carbon dioxide gas injections enhances oil recovery and reduces the viscosity of recovered oil.
DRY ICE
‘Cryo freeze™’ trade marketed by Prime gases for Dry ice, is a Solid form of Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Dry ice is manufactured from Liquid Carbon dioxide and is critical for freezing/ cooling applications because of its extreme cold temperature of -78 °C. Moreover, it has the advantages of directly changing from solid phase to gaseous phase, a process called sublimation, without going through the liquid state. Cryo freeze™ is predominantly used in Automotive, Pharmaceuticals, Airline catering, Food & Beverage industries. Our product capacity to manufacture dry ice is more than 30TPD.
Both Liquid and solid forms of Carbon Dioxide find their use as extensively used refrigerants in the food industry for the transportation and storage of dairy products such as ice creams and other frozen foods. Owing to its property of propellant and acidity regulator, it is also used in the packaging of foodstuffs under a protected atmosphere. It is also applied as a cryogenic fluid in freezing or chilling operations or as dry ice for controlling temperature during the distribution of foodstuffs.
Dry ice is very widely used for Research and Development activities as a cooling agent for research projects by numerous government institutions and Pharmaceutical companies . Dry ice also plays an essential role in keeping the temperature intact and according to the requirements during the transportation of Blood samples, organs etc.
Dry ice is used as an effective preservative to arrest and prevent the activity of insects in containers consisting of grains and grain related products. As dry ice displaces oxygen, without affecting the taste and quality of such foods, it is used extensively in storage and preservation of food products.
Dry ice is a hazard free agent used in the cleaning of containment tankers. Dry ice displaces oxygen from containment tanks, thereby reducing the risk of flammable vapors from igniting and exploding.
Dry ice is used extensively by all airline caterers to ensure that the beverages served to the people in the flight are cold or below room temperature and also the food does not become stale during long flight hours. The Dry ice used in airlines can be in the form of Blocks or Pellets depending on the requirement.
Dry ice is often used in the meat processing industries where they play a critical role in cooling the meat after slaughter and during the transportation for local areas and for exports also. This will ensure that the meat which reaches the customers/consumers and in the right standards for consuming and does not become stale.
One of the prime uses of dry ice is in the process of blast cleaning, where pellets of dry ice are shot out of a nozzle along with compressed air, to utilize the power of the speed of pellets along with the sublimation effect. The result is the effective removal of residues from industrial equipment. Dry ice blasting is preferred over other traditional methods such as sandblasting, steam blasting, water blasting and solvent blasting. Dry ice can be used to clean dirt and soot from electronics without making them wet or using chemicals.
The extreme cold of -78.6 degree Celsius of dry ice makes it useful for shrinking bearings, shafts, and other machines and metal parts before assembly of certain machines and tools in various manufacturing and assembling industries. This will enable lesser downtime in the production line and in turn more efficiency in the production line.
Dry ice, when placed in water, accelerates the process of sublimation, thereby creating dense, low sinking clouds of smoke like fog. This effect is applied in various instances such as fog machines, theaters, haunted house attractions and nightclubs to create dramatic effects.
STORAGE SYSTEMS
We install Liquid Storage systems where the consumption of gases are substantially higher for the investments they make for the system. We can install the system for the consumption of gases like – CO2, Argon, Nitrogen, Oxygen. The system consists of the following:
Tanks – Vacuum Insulated/PUF Insulated. PUF insulated is used only for CO2 applications. Capacity of the tank can vary w.r.t to the consumption of the user.
Vaporizers- This is used to convert the liquid in the tank to gaseous state for final consumption. Capacity of the vaporizer can vary w.r.t to the consumption of the user.
Pressure Reducing Station (PRS)- Generally the liquid state of the gas is stored at a pressure in which it is manufactured. The user may require the gas consumption at a much lesser pressure. This system is used to reduce the pressure of the gas to the desired level at the consumption point. This is achieved by using pressure regulators.
Refrigeration Unit : This unit is installed for LCO2 storage (PUF tanks) system and is used to control the pressure build up in the tanks. This ensures that the operational pressure is maintained all the time.
Load cell/DP Transmitter with Telemetry – This is installed for all tanks to show the actual stock of the liquid present in the tanks. A telemetry unit is installed to access the critical parameters like – Stock, Pressure, temperature of the tank real time in a cloud system and can alert the user w.r.t any deviation in parameters. This system also enables suppliers to plan the next supply without the involvement or instructions from the user.
